Sheila Benson, Office Manager, is
responsible for the general administration of the firm and handles
all business-related inquiries. She joined the firm in June of 2007.
Prior to joining Beery, Elsner & Hammond, Sheila worked for Schwabe,
Williamson & Wyatt as a litigation paralegal. Previously, she
was Sales Director/General Manager for Qwest Dex. Sheila graduated
from Portland State University with a B.A. (Arts & Letters) and
Portland Community College with an A.A. (Paralegal Studies). She
is a member of the Oregon Paralegal Association and the Association
of Legal Administrators.

Sean Gallagher, Paralegal, performs
a variety of paraprofessional duties for the attorneys in the firm.
He received his B.A. in both History and Philosophy from the University
of California Santa Cruz in 2001. Sean joined the firm in June
2007 after working for several years in the California court system.

Justin Hiatt, Paralegal, joined
the firm in December 2007 and primarily serves as the firm’s
land use paralegal. He previously worked for the Oregon Law Center
and the Oregon Judicial Department. He holds a Bachelor of Arts
in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Oregon.
Additionally, he has a certificate in Paralegal Studies from the
College of Legal Arts. He is an avid disc golfer and can be seen
on Wednesdays at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization
Center shooting hoops.

Laura Pride, Legal Assistant, joined the firm as a legal assistant in May 2008. She has over 20 years of experience in the legal profession in a wide range of practice areas. Most recently, Laura worked for the law office of Des Connell in Portland.
Laura has two sons, Donald and Nathan. Donald is a student
athlete in basketball and football at Wilson High School. Nathan
is a fifth grader at Llewellyn Elementary School and loves science
experiments. Laura’s interests include spending time
with her sons, reading and home improvements.

Cherrie Fray, Legal Assistant, is
the primary client contact for the firm. She handles telephones
and assists with customer service as well as providing legal support
within the firm by finalizing correspondence, coordinating project
lists and deadlines, maintaining a calendar system, overseeing
all billing, and organizing library and client files. Cherrie graduated
from Mt. Hood Community College with an Associate of Applied Science
in Office Management and a Certificate in Legal Administrative
Assistant studies. Prior to joining Beery, Elsner & Hammond,
Cherrie worked as a legal assistant intern for Thomas Melville,
P.C. She joined the firm in July of 2007.
