Heather Martin

Heather R. Martin, Associate, focuses her practice on land use, employment and election law issues for the firm’s clients.  Heather grew up outside of Washington, D.C. but has significant Ohio ties as most of her family lives there.  After attending Miami University in Ohio, Heather worked as a political consultant in Washington, D.C. before obtaining her public administration and law degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill.  Previously, she worked for the Legal and Fiscal Research Divisions of the North Carolina General Assembly and she also served as an associate at the Charlotte, North Carolina-based firm, Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein.

While Heather tries to stay healthy by running, hiking and eating right, she has a weakness for North Carolina-style BBQ and Girl Scout cookies, no matter how unhealthy either might be.  She also does not like to be disturbed for social outings during the month of March as she is an avid (some might say crazy) college basketball fan. Her secondary occupations are running political campaigns and serving as a bridesmaid in weddings (12 times at last count).
